1971: The Foundation
It all started on February 1st, 1971. Gerrit van Krimpen founded the company in Haarlem, specializing in lead casting and seals. For nearly two decades, the focus was purely on industrial metalworking. The foundation of our craftsmanship was laid here: understanding how materials work.
1990: The Spark
The diving chapter began by accident. A group of students from a diving club in Groningen had a homemade mold for a lead weight but no way to cast it. They found Van Krimpen in the Yellow Pages and knocked on our door. We helped them pour their weights. That simple act of helpfulness sparked a revolution. We realized we could make better weights than what was available. The "Diving Lead" division was born.
1992 - 2022: Innovation
While others treated lead as a commodity, we started innovating. We were among the first to introduce vinyl-coated blocks and nickel-plated soft lead to prevent oxidation. We became a familiar face at major European diving shows like Duikvaker and Boot Düsseldorf.
2023: Farewell and Succession
This year was a turning point for us. On March 25th, we unexpectedly lost our founder, father, and mentor, Gerrit van Krimpen. It was a dark period for the family, but it also strengthened our resolve. Dennis (son) and Threa officially stepped forward to secure the future of the company. We continue with pride, honoring Gerrit's legacy by maintaining the quality and service he stood for.
Ready for the Future
To keep up with growing B2B demand, we moved to a new, modern facility in Gieten. With increased warehouse capacity and professional production lines, we are now ready to serve the European market as the undisputed specialist.
